Integrated English Online Program (IEOP)

Program Overview

St. Lawrence College is offering students the opportunity to learn English from the comfort of their homes around the world. This online program allows students to access quality curricula on an e-learning platform and engage in live video conferencing with qualified ESL teachers in Canada. Benefits of the online program include:

Program Features:

  • 12-week intensive learning, focused on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and academic study skills
  • Live practice sessions (10 hours per week. Tuesday – Friday 8:00 am - 10:30 am or 7.00 pm -9.30 pm Toronto time. Convert to your time zone). If these times don’t work for you, you can explore our personalized POET program
  • Teacher-guided online activities (10-15 hours per week on your own schedule)
  • One-on-one tutorials (2 hours per week interaction tailored to your needs)

Note: The session time(s) will be assigned based on availability, class size, and the student's time zone within their country of residence. The class schedule is subject to change due to the enrolment numbers. If a class is cancelled due to low enrolment, you will be offered to move to another class or to switch to our Private Online English Tutoring program.

Program Structure

IEOP Foundation

  • 12-week course for students in Pre-Intermediate level. Check your level of English here
  • Study from the comfort of your home
  • Learn the foundations of English to prepare yourself for traveling to Canada
  • Please note that students in IEOP Foundation will not be eligible for a support letter for visa purposes until they move to IEOP Pathway

IEOP Pathway

  • Two 12-week levels for students in Intermediate and Advanced levels. Check your level of English here
  • Study from the comfort of your home or from Canada
  • Master your English skills to progress to an academic program at St. Lawrence College
  • Students in IEOP Pathway will be eligible for a support letter for visa purposes. However, please note that this program does not require students to have a Study Permit so we cannot guarantee that your application is successful. Please contact the international office in your region for further assistance 

Requirements to progress to the next level of study

IEOP FOUNDATION

  • 60% on the final grade to progress to Intermediate

IEOP PATHWAY:

  • 60% on the final grade to progress from IEOP Pathway Intermediate to Advanced
  • To enter Certificate/Diploma programs at SLC: 70% on the final grade IEOP Pathway Advanced
  • To enter Degree/Graduate Certificate/Program Pairs programs at SLC: 85% on the final grade IEOP Pathway Advanced

Note: the credential earned from this program is only one piece required for admission to academic programs. Students are still required to meet other admission requirements to enter the academic program. Different programs may have different requirements

        English Level Requirement:
        The program accepts students with Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced levels of English. Students who do not have official English test score (eg. Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL etc.) are required to take the Online SLC Placement Test to determine their English level

        Requirements to progress to the next level of study:

        • For students at Advanced level (English 125)
          If you achieve 70% on the final grade, you are eligible to enter SLC Certificate and Diploma programs. If you achieve 85%, you are eligible to enter Degree and Graduate Certificate programs.
        • For students at Intermediate Level (ENGLISH 120)
          If you achieve 60% on the final grade, you are eligible to go to the Advanced level.
        • For students at Pre-Intermediate Level (ENGLISH 115)
          If you achieve 60% on the final grade, you are eligible to go to the Intermediate level.

        Fees & Expenses

        • Registration Fee: $100 for new applicants
        • 12-week Program Fee: $3,800 CAD
