POSITION SUMMARY
The Innovation Hub at St. Lawrence College is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and organized student to join our team as an Office Administrator. This role is critical in supporting the overall Centre for Innovation operations, offering an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic workplace environment. The position encompasses various administrative responsibilities, including supporting space bookings, financial tracking, maintaining efficient administrative processes, and inventory management of supplies and equipment.
The Office Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Innovation Hub through strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This position offers opportunities to develop professional skills while supporting team engagement and workplace culture. The successful candidate will assist in fostering connections through team-building initiatives, social gatherings, and workplace cultural activities, contributing to the Hub's collaborative and innovative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the tracking and coordination of employee schedules and availability
- Processing and tracking financial documents, including invoices and budget tracking for projects
- Assist in coordinating the Hub space bookings and supporting users to ensure an organized and welcoming environment
- Supporting the maintenance of organized storage systems, including tracking supplies and equipment sign-out procedures
- Supporting regular inventory counts of office supplies, equipment, and resources
- Handle inquiries from students, staff, and external parties, providing information and guidance related to the Centre's services
- Providing general HR administrative support during hiring campaigns and team member onboarding
- Supporting the coordination and communication of team activities, including team-building events, cultural initiatives, and recognition programs
- Contribute to the development and implementation of systems and processes to improve the Centre's operational efficiency
- Participate in Centre meetings and provide input on projects, initiatives, and improvements
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proficiency in English
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience in or eager to learn about financial tracking and basic bookkeeping
- Experience in or passionate about learning schedule coordination and availability tracking
- Knowledge of basic HR functions and requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive team relationships
- Experience in or enthusiasm for coordinating group activities and events
- Knowledge of inventory management principles or willingness to learn
- An innovative thinker with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work around class commitments
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.
Salary & Terms
- Start Rate: $17.20 per hour (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
- Hours per week: 12

- Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College.
