Critical care nurses are responsible for the most vulnerable patients, in the most acute care environments. Those working in critical care are expected to monitor, assess and treat critically ill patients and thus must have an in-depth knowledge base and skill level related to the conditions, treatments and environments in which these patients are cared for.
