Dr. Nancy Sears retired from her position as Professor in the BScN program in January 2022 after more than twelve years of teaching. Nancy was the first PhD-prepared nurse to join the SLC Nursing Faculty, and also served as President of the Colleges of Nurses of Ontario. To celebrate Nancy’s dedication to the study of Nursing, the Dr. Nancy Sears Academic Excellence in Nursing Award was established and will be awarded to a graduating Bachelor of Science in Nursing student who has demonstrated strong academic achievement.
