St. Lawrence College is able to offer assistance in the form of non-repayable financial need bursaries. These bursaries are intended to assist students who are experiencing financial needs both in preparation for and during their school year.
Entrance Bursaries
The Entrance Bursary provides aid to full-time post-secondary students with financial need who are starting their journey at St Lawrence College. The bursary is available and sent out to new first semester students a few months before the start of your program.
Not all eligible students who apply will receive this bursary. There are limited funds available. If applications for this bursary exceed the funds available, bursaries will be awarded to students in the most financial need, as determined by the application and Ministry requirements.
Eligibility:
- You have applied to the first semester of a full-time certificate, diploma, degree or graduate certificate program.
- You are not receiving assistance through other government funding programs for your studies.
- You must demonstrate financial need

- Fall semester
- Winter semester
- Spring semester
Entrance Bursary application Form
Please click on the following link to apply for the Fall 2025 Entrance Bursary. This bursary provides financial support for up to 300 eligible students, with each bursary valued at $1,000. It is a needs-based bursary that will be available to an incoming SLC domestic student coming directly from high school or for any mature applicant, and does not require an OSAP application for eligibility.
Applications will be assessed, and eligible recipients will be notified by June 1st, 2025, with funds being posted to an eligible account after the tenth day of the Fall 2025 semester.

Current Student - Financial Needs Bursaries
The Financial Needs Bursary provides aid to full-time post-secondary students with financial need who are attending publicly assisted colleges and universities in Ontario. The bursary is available each year in the Fall and Winter semesters.
Not all eligible students who apply will receive this bursary. There are limited funds available to SLC. If applications for this bursary exceed the funds available, bursaries will be awarded to students with the most financial need, as determined by the application.
Eligibility:
- You are enrolled in a full-time certificate, diploma, or graduate certificate program.
- You are not receiving assistance through the Better Jobs Ontario program for your studies.
- You must demonstrate financial need.
Availability:
- Fall Semester (Application open November)
- Winter semester (Application open March)
The Financial Needs Bursary application is to be completed online, and the Financial Aid Office will notify you by email to your SLC account of the decision.
Emergency Assistance
This program intends to assist students who are experiencing significant unexpected financial hardships during their school year. Persons currently registered as students in post-secondary studies at SLC may apply for assistance.
This assistance is awarded on a "needs" basis, and additional extenuating circumstances will be reviewed individually.
