This November, the Student Engagement team hosted a Lunch & Learn Leadership Series across all three campuses, attracting over 130 students eager to develop leadership skills and connect with inspiring guest speakers.
Each campus featured a unique speaker who shared invaluable insights on personal growth and the power of effective leadership. From exploring the art of self-leadership and identity to strategies for collaboration and navigating conflict, students gained practical tools to apply both in and outside the classroom.
We extend gratitude to our guest speakers for sharing their expertise and for engaging our students in meaningful dialogue:
Cornwall Campus: Patrick Hymus, Educational Developer, AI & Immersive Technologies, SCTL
Brockville Campus: Colleen Brennan, Career Advisor, Career Services
Kingston Campus: Steve Nash, Professor, Leadership Expert & Trainer
Your collaboration helped make a big impact on our student community and reinforced the value of leadership programming at SLC.
The strong student turnout demonstrates a clear demand for professional development opportunities on our three campuses. These events not only inspire students to become future leaders but also highlight the growing role of the St. Lawrence Experience Record (SER) in supporting leadership and co-curricular development.
As we celebrate the success of these events, we look forward to creating more opportunities for students to thrive. With SER providing a clear framework for co-curricular recognition, the future is bright for leadership development at SLC!

To continue shaping impactful leadership opportunities, we encourage faculty and staff to share the Leadership Development Survey with students. By gathering insights and ideas from our student community, we can design programming that meets the needs of tomorrow’s leaders and truly puts Students First.
Attention Students: Complete the Leadership Development Survey and earn 50 Surge Rewards Points!
Stay tuned for upcoming leadership events in the winter semester!
