SLC will hold three information sessions for students interested in a newly launched global learning opportunity, Entrepreneurial Thinking in A Global Context, a faculty-led program which includes on-site and virtual classes at SLC and a two-week trip to Ireland. The sessions take place March 22 at 3:30pm and April 1 at 8:30am. A focused session for Indigenous students will be held today, March 17 at 12:00pm.
The College announced funding from the Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) last fall to increase student opportunities for a global learning experience. The funding aims to reduce barriers for all students, particularly Indigenous students, low-income students, and students with a disability.
This funding allows SLC to launch its first faculty-led program in Ireland in fall 2022. Students will earn academic credits while experiencing new culture in order to further develop global skills.
When students apply, their application will automatically be evaluated for funding eligibility. Once accepted, students will be awarded the applicable funding to cover program and travel costs through GSO and SLC Global Learning Bursary.
