St. Lawrence College (SLC) was pleased to welcome Natalie Pierre, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Colleges and Universities, and MPP, Burlington, to the Kingston campus on February 15 to talk about mental health services and supports at the College.
MPP Pierre, who was accompanied by Navita Sukhdeo, her Executive Assistant, met with Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO; Shelley Aylesworth-Spink Shelley, VP Student Affairs; Neetu Shah Associate Director, Student Wellness & Accessibility; and Stacy Gall and Tania Nicholls, Accessibility Counsellors. A key part of her visit included meeting with students to discuss the mental health and wellness support they receive at SLC.
“At SLC we’re proud of the work we’ve done to increase and improve the mental health and wellness resources available to our students,” Glenn said. “As we are now working hard on our Integrated Mental Health Strategy, we know there is significant work still to be done to more fully understand everyone’s needs, and we are committed to evolving our approach, resources, and more on an ongoing, long-term basis.”
Shelley and Neetu also led MPP Pierre on a tour of the Campus Health Centre and Student Wellness and Accessibility and the Student Life and Innovation Centre.
