This October, Alumni and Development, along with Cornwall Student Union and Kingston Student Association, came together to joyfully celebrate Navratri on our Cornwall and Kingston campuses. It was heartwarming to see our enthusiastic students and alumni join us as we played Garba, accompanied by vibrant folk music and traditional snacks.
We were thrilled to have Storm join us for a dance as well, appropriately outfitted in their new vest. You can look at a recap of the Kingston campus’s celebrations here.
About Navratri
Navratri is a sacred Hindu festival spanning nine nights and ten days. It's a time to pay tribute to the diverse incarnations of Goddess Durga and commemorate her victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Each night is dedicated to a different manifestation of Durga, marked by prayers, fasting, and the traditional Garba dance. Many people visit temples, wear traditional attire, and decorate their homes with idols and decorations to celebrate this spiritually significant and vibrant festival.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Diwali celebrations! Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates.
