Submitted by Jadon Hook, Sustainability Coordinator, FMS

The SLC Sustainability department is excited to announce the 2024 Climate Leadership Program, an annual opportunity for students and employees to engage in sustainability activities and develop community-based solutions to climate change in Kingston, Cornwall, and Brockville.  View the 2023 project overview here (PDF)

The program is developed by the Sustainability department in partnership with Enactus SLC, the Innovation Hub, and the City of Kingston and provides teams with climate science training, while building leadership, project management, and innovative problem-solving skills. Teams will develop plans for needed community and campus sustainability projects and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. The top three teams will receive support from participating partners and local community members to implement their projects. Some examples of potential projects include collection drives, biodiversity enhancement, repair cafes, waste education, circular economy initiatives, and waste to energy solutions.
