Denise Lachance

Artist Bio 

Denise was born in northern Ontario but has lived most of her life in Ottawa-Gatineau. While the focus of her art practice throughout her life was drawing and painting, Denise has been exploring printmaking techniques for the last 5 years. Denise exhibits regularly with the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Connective and Arteast.

Artist Statement

For me, exploring the figure in my art practice is about capturing the life process. I prefer depicting people with, what I call, mileage. It's a both a joy and a challenge to capture their history and emotion through shape, line and colour.
