St. Lawrence College's (SLC) Child Care Worker, Child and Youth Worker, and Child and Youth Care graduates and current students will commemorate their 50-year contribution to the community with a reunion. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm on SLC’s Kingston campus.

This event will celebrate the enduring impact of the Child and Youth Care field. Attendees will include graduates, current students, faculty members, and community members who have contributed to the program's success over the years. The drop-in evening will allow folks to connect and share experiences, enjoy appetizers and refreshments, while listening to live entertainment from SLC’s own CYW graduate, Doug van der Horden.

"We are thrilled to come together to honour five decades of compassion and commitment to shaping the lives in our community," says Tanea Fortin, Program Coordinator of the Child and Youth Care program at SLC. "This event is not just about celebrating the past; it's about acknowledging the enduring impact of our profession and inspire the next generation of practitioners in this important field."

"As we mark 50 years of our Child and Youth Care program, we are proud of the impact our graduates and students have had on our community,” said Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO. “This milestone celebrates their dedication and the vital role they've played in supporting the well-being of children, youth, and families. It underscores our commitment to serving our community and preparing future professionals who will continue this important work."
