As St. Lawrence College (SLC) and our partner Alpha College of Business and Technology (Alpha) have worked to return processes and operations to where they were prior to the pandemic, we encountered issues with volumes that impacted service levels and negatively impacted our students, and for that we apologize.
We recognize that delayed confirmation of enrollment caused students, their families and support networks considerable stress and confusion. As a quick update, we are pleased to confirm that all spring semester students were enrolled before the end of the May holiday weekend, and the many current applicants interested in attending Alpha in an upcoming semester have been contacted to confirm that their file is progressing. They have been informed they will receive a letter of acceptance or confirmation of any required steps by June 17, 2022.
SLC would like to ensure students with concerns are having their voices heard. We want to listen, we want to learn, and we value your feedback.
Current Alpha students are going to be invited to attend an online information session with Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO, and Vivian Liu, Alpha College President and CEO, where news and insights will be shared, and students’ questions are answered. Students will receive information about how to register and will have an opportunity to submit questions ahead of time. Note that a student ID number and email will be required to register, and a recording will be shared after the event. Please watch for an announcement of the date and time on student communication channels.
Improvements are underway that will address some of the concerns students have noted to date, including an update for IT systems and clarification of the student complaint process. While updates are implemented, any student with questions or concerns is invited to email feedback@slc-alpha.ca for confidential support. Additionally, any student with questions about their enrollment can also email frontdesk@slc-alpha.ca or call 416-640-0161 between 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM Monday to Friday, or 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Finally, regular updates will begin being posted on the Alpha and SLC websites next week that are intended to help students and their networks keep informed.
At SLC and Alpha we are proud of our students. We realize what a commitment it is to undertake post-secondary education, and we take that commitment seriously. We will continue working hard to ensure students’ academic goals are reached and that every student succeeds.

हम मानते हैं कि नामांकन की पुष्टि में देरी के कारण छात्रों, उनके परिजनों और छात्रों को सहारा देने वालों में काफी तनाव और भ्रम पैदा हुआ है। इसलिए इस फौरी घोषणा की पुष्टि करते हुए हमें प्रसन्नता हो रही है कि कि मई के हॉलिडे वीकेंड से पहले नाम दर्ज करवा चुके स्प्रिंग सेमेस्टर के सभी छात्रों को, और आगामी सेमेस्टर में अल्फा में प्रवेश पाने के इच्छुक कई वर्तमान आवेदकों से यह पुष्टि करने के लिए संपर्क किया गया है कि उनकी फाइल पर काम हो रहा है। उन्हें सूचित कर दिया गया है कि उन्हें 17 जून 2022 तक लेटर ऑफ़ एक्सेप्टेन्स मिल जायेगा अथवा बता दिया जायेगा के उनके आवेदन में क्या कमियां पूरी करनी बाकी हैं।
एसएलसी यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहेगा कि कि जो छात्र किसी बात को लेकर चिंता में हैं, उनकी बात सुनी जाये। हम सुनना चाहते हैं, हम सीखना चाहते हैं, और हम आपकी राय को महत्वपूर्ण मानते हैं।
