FAQs

Apply to any of these programs at SLC using the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS) at ontariocolleges.ca

Applications open in October. You can get offers to non-competitive programs as early as November 1!

The Equal Consideration Date is February 1. SLC accepts applications after this deadline for programs that are still open, but we encourage you to apply before February 1.

The shared common first year allows you to build a foundation of electrical skills and techniques while exploring specialties -- if your interest in a specialty or your goals change, you can switch from your program into another eligible program (ESET, Electrical Engineering Technician, ICET, Wind Turbine Technician).

At the end of your first year/semester 2, you will be asked to confirm which program you wish to continue in for their second year. You will not need to reapply through OCAS.

No, there is no cost if you are an ESET, Electrical Engineering Technician, ICET, or Wind Turbine Technician student switching to one of those programs in second year.

Yes, if you graduate from ESET, Electrical Engineering Technician, ICET, or Wind Turbine Technician, you will be able to complete another one of those programs in a reduced timeframe as you will already have completed the first year of studies.

For example, you could complete the two-year Electrical Engineering Technician program, then after graduating, complete the two-year Wind Turbine Technician program in only one year.
