St. Lawrence College encourages all International students to carefully choose their program of studies before selecting and making any payments to St. Lawrence College.
St. Lawrence College’s International student refund policy has been developed in compliance with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' Policy on Tuition and Ancillary Fees and the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Study Permit guidelines.
St. Lawrence College advises all students to make payments directly using Flywire. Do not make payment through an agent.
In accordance with industry best practices and to abide by the Government of Canada’s guidelines, St. Lawrence College will only return funds to the original payer and payer’s account. The funds will not be transferred to another account or institution
The non-refundable tuition deposit amount of $2,350CAD will be retained by St. Lawrence College for students who withdraw within the specified deadlines. Students who withdraw after the specified deadlines, will not be eligible for a refund.
Any wire transfer fees or bank charges associated with returning the funds will be charged to the student and will be subtracted from the amount returned.
St. Lawrence College will require up to 90 days to complete the return of funds once all documentation required to support the refund request has been received.
St. Lawrence College bears no responsibility for funds that do not reach their destination due to inaccurate or obsolete financial information provided by the student. Applicants/students are responsible for all banking and foreign exchange charges associated with their payment/refund.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and/or Canada Border Services Agency will be notified of the student's withdrawal or transfer from St. Lawrence College.

All refund requests must be received by St. Lawrence College before or within the first 10 days of the beginning of the term in which the student has been accepted.
Which student are you?
St. Lawrence College will provide a refund of any prepaid tuition (less a $150CAD refund processing fee) if the applicant is denied a student Visa under the condition that the applicant provides St. Lawrence College with an authentic Visa denial letter issued by the Canadian High Commission within 10 days of the start of the semester. The authenticity of a visa refusal letter may be verified. Applicants are not permitted to use the same visa refusal letter that has previously been provided to request a deferral or refund.

St. Lawrence College will provide a refund of any prepaid tuition (less a $150CAD refund processing fee) if the applicant does not meet the conditions of acceptance under the condition that students must provide evidence of failure to meet the conditions of acceptance before the semester start. For example, if a student does not meet the IELTS requirement, the student must provide the official IELTS test results.
International students who complete the full withdrawal process before or within the first 10 days of the beginning of the term are entitled to a refund of tuition and ancillary fees less the non-refundable tuition deposit amount of $2,350CAD. If a request for transfer is not completed within the timeline, no refund of semester fees will be issued.
All International students must request a refund within the St. Lawrence College OCAS-International Application Services portal. Students must upload all required documents to support the refund request processing.
St. Lawrence College will require two days to confirm the validity of the letter from the receiving institution. To allow verification of the transfer to another institution, all documentation (including letter of acceptance and tuition receipts from the receiving institution) must be uploaded to the St. Lawrence College OCAS-International Application Services portal within the first 8 days of the International student’s first semester.
**If required documents to support the refund request processing are not provided by the student, within 10 days of the start of the semester, the request for refund will be denied.**
Students who request a refund for the purpose of transfer to another institution must meet the following criteria:
- Meet the transfer deadline.
- Request a refund online at St. Lawrence College OCAS-International Application Services portal
- Provide all the following documentation when submitting the refund request to the OCAS International Application Services portal:
- Copy of valid letter from the receiving institution (must be an approved Designated Learning Institution) indicating start date and program of studies. Program must be for the same semester as accepted to attend at St. Lawrence College. St. Lawrence College will require a minimum two days to confirm the validity of the letter from the receiving institution.
- Valid Certification of Acceptance for Quebec (CAQ), and the Letter of Acceptance for the approved Designated Learning Institution, for students transferring to the province of Quebec.
- Proof of full tuition payment for first semester of studies (official receipt) made to the receiving institution. A receipt for an application deposit or down payment will not be accepted.
Students that have entered Canada on a study permit must remain enrolled as students. If a student is not intending to study as a full-time student, they may return to their home country.
Students who withdraw and return home must submit the withdrawal application documents including, a copy of their passport and valid study permit, flight ticket and re-entry stamp upon return to home country.
Only students who have withdrawn before or within the first 10 days of the semester will be eligible for a refund less the non-refundable tuition deposit amount of $2,350CAD.
