POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to Department Manager, and under the guidance of the designate, the student incumbent works up to 12-hours per week (may include evenings and/or weekends), providing assistance in greeting and guiding customers and performing limited administrative related tasks to gain work experience while supporting the operations of the department. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong customer-service, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills, combined with an ability to work under pressure, and problem-solve while working independently .
SLC's Marketing team is seeking an enthusiastic, creative individual who believes SLC is an amazing school! As a Student Content Creator, you will capture content for our corporate social media channels (with a focus on Brazil), website and other platforms to help promote St. Lawrence College from a students’ perspective. You should be comfortable speaking with new people from around the world and being on camera to create digital content on a weekly basis.
In support of the College’s Global Market Strategic Initiatives, content creators produce content for local distribution, as well as international distribution in Brazil. Candidates should indicate on their cover letter if they are fluent in Portuguese.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and edit video content around the SLC campus and communities (with a focus on Reels).
- Work collaboratively with internal and international partners to develop video content to recruit students to SLC.
- Opportunities to create content in multiple languages if the incumbent is fluent.
- Attending campus and community events to capture authentic student experiences and create engaging digital content to be posted on social media and web channels (photo and video).
- Connect with other students to help them capture and edit video content.
- Proactively present content ideas that support the college's marketing and recruitment plans globally, and execute the ideas for social media and web.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable being on camera yourself.
- Ability to work independently, and with others.
- Familiarity with content creation, including basic video editing (no specific platform required). Applicants are welcome to include links to samples in their application (not a requirement).
- Familiarity with social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Comfortable working in a busy team environment, and attending on-campus events.
- Self-starter, and ability to come up with video content ideas.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.
Salary & Terms
- Start Rate: $17.20/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
- Hours per week: Up to 12.00

Terms of Employment:
- Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College OR returning to Full-Time studies in the immediate upcoming semester.
- Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
