Indigenous Artist Bio
Brigid Coulombe is currently attending St. Lawrence College at the Brockville campus as she in the process of working towards her BA in Fine Arts. Brigid has been involved in many artistic endeavors including but not limited to face painting and art workshops at her local elementary schools, a mural at the Cornwall Value Village, hand painted outdoor signage for Fields of Gold, Monkland and has also received her High Skills Major in art. She aspires to finish the last year for her BA in Sligo, Ireland at the Atlantic Technological University. In the future, she hopes to open her own business where she is able to sell her many creations.
Statement
My art stems from all the things in my world that make life feel worth living for. Through a diverse range of mediums and imagery, I delve into the memories of my childhood, the foundation of my faith, the vibrant energy of daily experiences, and the natural beauty that surrounds me. In a world where change is the only constant, I seek to capture the fleeting moments that define our lives. For me, art is about capturing a moment just as you remember it, retelling it and keeping it forever.
Each piece I create is a visual journal of my existence and how these experiences intertwine with the rest of the world. My goal is to find meaning in every moment—whether joyful or challenging—and to create art that reflects the inherent goodness and beauty of the world.
