St. Lawrence College Proud of New Innovative Partnership to Train Healthcare Professionals
St. Lawrence College (SLC) has partnered with the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and Maple View Lodge in Athens, Ontario to provide real-world experience and training for Personal Support Worker (PSW) students. Maple View Lodge is building a new facility (opening in 2025), that will greatly expand the number of beds. The St. Lawrence College PSW program will be delivered onsite at the Maple View Lodge facility, using a living classroom model. This will allow students enrolled in the program to have an immersive learning environment, becoming part of the facility from the beginning of their program, learning daily as part of the care team.
St. Lawrence College student wins national award for Precision Machining
Nathan Orr, a St. Lawrence College student from the General Machinist Apprenticeship program won bronze in the Skills Canada National Competition, held in Quebec City May 28 to 31. Nathan previously won gold at the Ontario Skills competition, and he was one of more than 500 competitors from all regions of Canada who gathered to showcase their skills in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. Nathan’s victory sets a record for SLC as the first national award in Precision Machining at the national level, and it reflects his and his faculty’s dedication to quality and skill development in his daily work and performance at the competition.
St. Lawrence College Celebrates Convocation in Kingston
St. Lawrence College will hold its spring Convocation ceremonies in Kingston at the Slush Puppie Place on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14, 2024. Some 3000 graduates will cross the stage from programs such as Nursing, Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology, Music and Digital Media, Veterinary Technician, Wind Turbine, and more.
St. Lawrence College Celebrates Convocation in Brockville
St. Lawrence College will hold its spring Convocation ceremonies for the Brockville campus on Friday, June 7, 2024. Some 350 graduates will cross the stage from programs such as Pre-Service Firefighter, Music Theatre – Performance, Nursing, and more.
