Check My English Level

What is my English level?

SLC English program accepts students from pre-intermediate level which means you need to have some knowledge of English. Download this checklist. If you answer yes to at least 14 of these questions from the checklist, you may be ready for the Pre-intermediate English level. When you apply to the program, you can submit the Standardized Test result for placement purposes. If you have not taken a standardized test, we will provide the Duolingo test as your official placement test.

The result from this test is for your reference only. It is not the official placement test and cannot be used as official proof of English proficiency for admission.

Canadian Language Benchmark

If you have been assessed on Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB), you will be placed in the online, on campus, or tutoring program directly. If you would like to use CLB to meet the College language requirement for academic admission, you can submit a CLB 8 portfolio for assessment. View submission guidelines.
