SLC Student Designed Pride T-Shirt to Highlight 2SLGBTQ+ Students
Each year, the Pride Committee holds a contest to choose the t-shirt design for SLC community members to wear at the Pride parades in Cornwall, Brockville, and Kingston. Members of the Pride Committee vote on their favourite design.
Showcasing Esthetics at Skills Ontario 2025
On May 5 and 6, Esthetics students Megan Lee Woods and Michaela Thompson, along with program coordinator Aba Mortley, represented the St. Lawrence College Esthetics program at the Skills Ontario Competition—but this year, with a new twist.  Instead of competing, the team proudly participated as part of the Esthetics and Skilled Trades Promotion Booth, showcasing the dynamic world of esthetics to thousands of students, educators, and industry professionals.
Real-World Experience for SLC Paramedic Students
May 18-25 is National Paramedic Services Week. This year’s theme is “We Care. For Everyone.” highlighting the professionalism and commitment of paramedics in providing compassionate and high-quality care.  This year, students in SLC’s Paramedic program completed their first full year in the new state-of-the-art simulation lab. This technology gives Paramedic students the opportunity to experience simulated real-life scenarios and practice, helping to better prepare them for the realities of paramedic work, including managing distractions and noise that may be present on scene. 
Student Recognized at Provincial Entrepreneurship Challenge 
Business Marketing student Maria Arraya recently joined peers from across the province to take part in the Cross-College Entrepreneurship Challenge (CCEC), a fast-paced competition that brings together entrepreneurial-minded students from Ontario colleges. With only a few days to prepare, teams tackled real-world business challenges from industry partners and presented their solutions through a final video pitch to a panel of judges. 
Nursing students experience healthcare in northern communities 
Nine Bachelor of Science Nursing (BScN) students and two faculty members from Kingston, Brockville, and Cornwall recently embarked on a transformative Northern Cross-Cultural Nursing Elective in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. This immersive experience provided students with a unique opportunity to explore healthcare delivery across a range of settings, including primary care, outpatient clinics, acute care, and critical care environments at Meno Ya Win Health Centre.
