SLC offers new Human Resource Management graduate certificate program
SLC is proud to announce the launch of its newest offering: the Human Resource Management graduate certificate program. Tailored for learners holding a college diploma or university degree, this program is designed to equip aspiring Human Resources professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the field. With intakes available in both September and January, prospective students can now apply for the upcoming cohorts starting in September 2024 and January 2025.
Students Explore Sustainable Learning in Costa Rica  
With the goal of contributing to sustainability practices while developing intercultural competence skills, 21 students from St. Lawrence College were selected through a competitive process for the General Education course called Creating a Sustainable Society. This unique course, spanning from January to early May, started with classroom theory before culminating in a transformative two-week experience in Costa Rica. Jordan Ann Kevan de Haan was the faculty for this course, and Ross McMillan attended to help with student success and support.
Support Student Success with Beacon 
In support of efforts to put students first, faculty are being reminded of the Beacon program and the important role played in connecting students who are presenting as at-risk academically. It is important to be aware of the indicators of academic risk, and to make referrals early. The Beacon program is most successful when referrals are made early in the semester allowing Student Success Facilitators (SSFs)* to have the biggest impact by working with individual students.
BPsych Students Immerse in Land-Based Learning
In April, 50 graduating students of Honours Bachelor of Behavioral Psychology participated in a two-day immersive educational experience rooted in Indigenous learning traditions.  Land-based learning has long been practiced by Indigenous Peoples as students learn through storytelling lead by an Indigenous leader, prepare food, hike, lay tobacco, participate in a blanket exercise, smudging, plant identification, campfires, directed and organic discussion, and spreading seeds.

Introducing the Business Project Consulting courses – an enriching educational venture empowering students to emerge as adept problem solvers and forward-thinking innovators.
